Content: The book consists of 14 chapters. Each one opens with either a famous quote or a life observation followed by advice from the author. The book's main chapters are “The Art of Living,” “The Art of Working,” and “The Art of Medicine.” Interspersed between these major topics are chapters on communication, patient–physician interaction, physician–physician collegiality, burnout, and end-of-life issues. The author concludes by summarizing his most important reflections on life.
