Annals of Internal Medicine Media Resources

The American College of Physicians' (ACP) Public Relations and Web Communications Department offers a variety of resources to assist reporters covering articles and studies published in Annals of Internal Medicine. The Annals of Internal Medicine Tip Sheet is distributed weekly to registered media under strict embargo. The Tip Sheet includes brief summaries of selected content, along with author contact information for reporters interested in scheduling interviews. PDFs of embargoed materials are also available upon request. Information contained in the Tip Sheet is copyrighted. As such, Annals of Internal Medicine attribution is required.

In addition to the weekly Tip Sheet, registered reporters may receive Annals press releases and digital news packages. Like the Tip Sheet, Annals press releases are emailed directly to registered reporters and are also posted to Eurekalert. News releases are posted in the ACP newsroom on the day of publication and an archive of past Tip Sheets is accessible at the Annals site.

Embargo Policy

Annals of Internal Medicine is published weekly, with print issues available on the first and third Tuesday of every month. All press and media materials are embargoed for 5:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern time the day before the date of publication. Advance information about articles in upcoming issues of Annals of Internal Medicine is provided to registered reporters as a service to them with the understanding that they will honor the embargo. Reporters who disregard the embargo policy can be penalized by no longer receiving information in advance.

Media Registration

The ACP Public Relations and Web Communications Department accepts registration only from accredited members of the news media. To register for the ACP/Annals of Internal Medicine media list, please complete this form.

Staff reporters may be asked to verify affiliations. Freelance reporters working for accredited publications or broadcast outlets may be asked to submit verification of assignments or recent news clippings with bylines.
