The Committee to Study the Tobacco Problem offers this volume not as an expression of any opinion of its own on the effects of tobacco on the animal organisms, but as a concise review of many opinions, often conflicting, of many authors. The review of the foreign literature has been made by Dr. E. L. Fisk. Seven hundred and fifty bibliographic references give evidence of the thoroughness of the attempt to present all of the data concerning the effects of the use of tobacco. The facts concerning these effects have not been easy to get at; and this book attempts
