This is an extremely superficial book upon old age, relating chiefly to the hygienic management of this part of life. The title itself shows the lack of a proper scientific understanding of age, for there could be no greater misnomer than "youthful" as applied to age. For age is not a disease but a normal, natural process of involution dependent upon intrinsic causes and factors destined to remove the individual from this world as soon as he has performed his function and is no longer useful to the race.
