The Effect of Liver Diet Upon the Healthy Individual.

Eight healthy young males were fed 500 g. of liver daily for 12-32 days, and the blood changes were carefully studied. In fifty percent of the cases the hemoglobin content of the blood showed a definite increase, in one person as much as 17 per cent. In all eight cases the red blood cells increased from 400,000 to 1,000,000. In 7 of the 8 cases the granulocytes increased definitely, and reached a maximum of 12-17 per thousand. The white cells remained unchanged. The bilirubin content of the serum increased, but did not exceed the upper limits of normal. In all
