The issue of five editions, in addition to a revised French edition, since 1921, speaks well for the reception accorded this clinical manual of routine methods of examination of the nervous system. For the present edition the author has again revised the book, and has made a number of minor additions and alterations. A short description of the methods of ventriculography and encephalography has been added. In the chapter on repeated examinations the author has also added a description of the uses of hypertonic solutions as a means of reducing intracranial testion and thereby rendering a dazed patient cooperative for
