This book offers the fairest and most unbiased review of chronic arthritis that the reviewer has been privileged to read in a long time. The author has no hobbies to foster and deals with one of the most complicated of diseases in a manner totally unprejudiced. The results of his wide experience in arthritis are well worth a careful study.

The introduction deals with the statistical experiences of many observers in the world at large, especially the impressions gathered by several insurance companies. Many surveys are summarized, some from the industrial standpoint and others from different levels of human existence,
