This book is composed of 30 papers read before the Atlantic City meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, December 29, 1936 to January 1, 1937. These papers are put into five groups as follows:

1. Heredity and constitutional factors.

2. Induction, stimulation and inhibition of tumorous growths.

3. Metabolism of cancer tissue.

4. Radiation.

5. General discussion of cancer problems.

The authors of these articles are world-renowned scientists who have done much original research in their various fields. Among them are Maud Slye, C. C. Little, Francis Carter Wood, G. Failla, Charles Geschickter, et al. In
