A symposium was prepared by members of the staff of the Mount Sinai Hospital of New York on the problem of the management of tuberculosis and published as the July-August 1956 issue of the Journal of the Mount Sinai Hospital. The present volume is a hard cover edition of that issue of the Journal.

With the rapid development of chemotherapeutic and surgical methods of treatment of tuberculosis in the past 10 years, and with the equally rapidly changing concepts of those doctors most concerned with the management of the disease, it is fortunate to have Dr. Selikoff and the staff
