This book is not a text for the endocrinologist or a reference for the well-informed internist. The authors in their preface have hoped "that the book would be of use to young surgeons who are studying for higher degrees and diplomas, to established surgeons who encounter unfamiliar problems in endocrinology, and to physicians who wish to know more about the surgical aspects of their clinical problems." The authors have fulfilled this hope by presenting a complete but not superficial account of clinical endocrinology. The first two parts of the book deal with the major endocrine organs relative to their frequency
