Moses Maimonides, rabbi, physician, philosopher, and mathematician, was born in Cordova, Spain, on March 30, 1135 (Nissan 14, 4895, in the Jewish Calendar), to an illustrious ancestry tracing back to the Royal House of King David of Israel.
