Third edition of a well-known textbook organized on the usual sequence of pathologic process, generalized disease, and system disease. By ingenious use of various type faces (italics, bold face, and sans serif), the author puts emphasis on salient principles and conclusions and separates out from the body of the text those sections of greatest importance in morphologic description. He gives ample space to clinicopathological correlations. Illustrations are generous in number and size, and the halftones are of fine quality. The bibliographies are often helpfully annotated, but their value would be greater if citations were grouped by topics.
