A welcome development in basic physiology texts is the current and prospective offering, by a number of publishers, of individual monographs in the several special areas in place of the traditional, bulky, all-inclusive textbooks. Choice among authors and treatments will be much freer, and the prospects for up-to-date revisions should be good.
The present volume is a splendid example of the specialized textbook covering, in this case, the major aspects of cardiac and peripheral circulatory physiology.
