Despite a voluminous literature in various textbooks on the auscultation and phonocardiography of the heart, there are few compilations of these diagnostic methods under a single cover. This justifies the appearance of Dr. Luisada's book.

This volume is the second part of a work on auscultation and phonocardiography, including attempts to catalog and explain sounds and murmurs produced by the abnormal heart. The initial portion of the book reviews the author's concept of production of the heart sounds and then methodically examines these sounds, as well as the third and fourth heart sounds, clicks, rubs, and murmurs.
