These volumes present a large number of short research papers from the Eighth International Meeting of the International Study Group for Research in Cardiac Metabolism, held 26 to 29 May 1976, in Tokyo. The papers in Volume 11 cover investigative topics in myocardial biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology; two of these concern clinical matters. Volume 12 contains papers with a wide range of investigations into ultrastructural, microscopic, and gross structural changes and functional consequences of various stresses (disease and experimental interventions, including chemical and drug effects) on the myocardium.
