This unit deals with pancreatic exocrine secretion and pathophysiological aspects of pancreatitis. The first two thirds of the slides deal with structural-functional relationships in the synthesis, transport, and secretion of digestive enzymes; fluid and bicarbonate secretion; as well as roles played by constituents of pancreatic secretion. The last third of the slides focus on the etiology, pathophysiology, pathology, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic pancreatitis.

The material covered in this teaching unit is more than adequate for undergraduates. The slides are good in quality and successfully cover part of the concepts of pancreatic physiology and disease. Because pancreatic physiology
