This excerpt has been provided in the absence of an abstract.

Collected didactic, heavily-illustrated articles from British Medical Journal that should serve well as introductory primers on their subjects for students and as efficient refreshers for practitioners in primary care or specialties. Both cover the fundamentals of diagnosis and treatment. The dermatology text deals with the most frequent diseases and disorders of the skin such as psoriasis, eczema, leg ulcers, acne, hair and nail problems, and so on, using excellent color photographs. The otolaryngologic text covers topics such as ear pain, deafness, vertigo, nosebleeds, and hoarseness, with the aid of numerous anatomic and procedural diagrams. (EJH)
