Announcement: Hurricane Katrina Message Board
On Monday, August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the coastal regions of three southern states. A tragedy of unprecedented proportions followed. Hundreds of thousands of people have since lost loved ones, homes, their livelihood, and civic infrastructures. The challenge of tending to their medical and psychological problems will be tremendous and ongoing. Many health care professionals are facing the challenge, often with limited resources. With this announcement, we invite health care professionals involved in the care of victims and refugees to share their experiences and perspectives using Annals' new Hurricane Katrina message board. Just click on the rapid response link to this announcement to send your message. Aim for messages of fewer than 400 words. Annals staff will read and post messages within 24 to 48 hours. We will not post messages that do not address health care issues or that use profanity, offensive language, or personal attacks that may be abusive or libelous.
