Ockham's razor shaves

stories to their cores,

a stainless blade relieves

complexity—and cures.

I want to say zebra,

the razor makes it horse.

I imagine a plethora,

am urged a single course.

Simplicity makes sense.

Discarding underbrush,

the secret of success—

a secret, too, of loss.

My rogue imagination

colors, enhances.

My ear yearns to listen,

my thalamus dances.

Now, Ockham's razor sits

no longer trusted

in my medicine cabinet,

abandoned and rusted.
