In the past, the parting words of your retiring president have dealt largely with the national and international necessity for such an organization as The American College of Physicians. This vindication of our society does not require reiteration; very little if anything, can be said supplementary to the masterly addresses delivered by former Presidents James M. Anders, Harlow Brooks and Alfred Stengel. In no uncertain way, have these gentlemen defined the fields of endeavor open to The College and most potently have they emphasized for us and the curious, if not critical, the pressing urge for just such grouping of
