This is a composite work to which some 33 writers have contributed sections along lines of cytology in which they have been personally more or less interested. The different kinds of cells which make up the human body—blood cells, nerve cells, gland cells, etc.—are treated individually in the separate sections. These contributors are chiefly anatomists. The book is to be regarded as supplementary to an earlier volume called "General Cytology" published by the University of Chicago Press in 1924, and now in its second printing.
