It is scarcely necessary to repeat to this audience the usual expression of feeling greatly honored at being invited to discuss certain features of my work in the University where I spent 15 pleasant years and where foundations of anything I have done in medicine were laid. It is necessary, however, out of fairness, to explain to this audience that much of the work I shall talk about tonight is the combined outcome of the friendly discussions, criticisms and hard work of men well honored and now living in Cleveland.
