Physiotherapy: Its Principles and Practice, as its full title indicates, is divided into two parts. In the introduction the author defines Physiotherapy as "the treatment of the patient by physical means, at the hands of the physician or by the art and skill of the surgeon" and he stresses the necessity of physiotherapists being medically trained. In the first part, "Principles", a very full and detailed description of the application and apparatus of the various physiotherapeutic agents is given, as well as a brief historical review of the older methods, such as static electricity and low and high voltage currents.
