The marked progress which is steadily being made in the surgical treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis demands that we frequently report the progress achieved by any particular procedure of compression therapy. Such a report must include not only a description of any improvement in operative technic but also recommendations regarding the selection of cases with an accurate survey of the results obtained by the particular method. The particular procedure to be discussed in this paper is closed intrapleural pneumolysis utilizing the electro-surgical method. The report is based upon my experience in 30 thoracoscopies with the cauterization of adhesions in most instances.
