In the preface the authors state that "the purpose of this book is to present to the student and practitioner of neurology the essentials in the clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of nervous diseases." On the first score they have succeeded admirably. The first 55 pages are devoted to the clinical examination. The authors chose wisely in having Professor G. H. Monrad-Krohn present this important section. It is a careful, concise presentation on the methods of examination and is actually an abridged presentation of this author's excellent textbook, "Clinical Examination of the Nervous System."
