This is a well-organized book on diet. The chapter on The Application of Dietotherapy contains useful photographs illustrating comparative servings of typical foods. There is little discussion of the basic principles of nutrition or of the origins and uses of individual foodstuffs, the major portion of the work being a description of the diets useful in individual diseases. The book is filled with many sample diets. The author makes a useful distinction between diseases in which diet is of paramount importance and conditions in which it is of varying importance.
