In the compilation of this work Dr. Tow has been extremely thorough. Practically all of the conditions affecting the newly born have been covered. Even such rarities as the Klippel-Feil syndrome and osteopetrosis receive attention. At times the discussion is extended beyond the neo-natal period, but only in the interests of clarification or completeness. Sufficient stress is laid upon the clinical side of the book to make it attractive to the practitioner. The literature has been exhaustively investigated and where differences of opinion exist the conflicting views are presented in an unbiased fashion. The author states in the preface "On
