This laboratory manual is divided into three parts. Part I (74 pages) deals with experiments on carbohydrates, lipins, proteins and hydrogen-ion concentration; Part II (26 pages) describes experiments on salivary, gastric and intestinal digestion, and Part III (124 pages) deals with qualitative and quantitative experiments on blood and urine. Concise but adequate directions are given for 232 experiments.
"Although this manual is intended primarily as the practical companion to Professor Matthew's textbook, nevertheless it contains considerable explanatory matter," a feature which appeals particularly to the reviewer, "in order to help correlate the theoretical and laboratory aspects of the subject matter."
