This is a report of the results of various procedures used in the diagnosis of 114 cases of congenital cardiovascular malformations with cyanosis. The editor stresses the fact that this is not a textbook on congenital heart disease but an attempt to evaluate various clinical methods of studying these conditions, and to judge the results of the surgical treatment. Accordingly, there are detailed reports not only of the clinical and roentgenological findings but also of the more recently applied technics: angiocardiography, heart catheterization, and circulation time study. There is a well-written section on the embryology of the heart.
