This is a much needed summary of both biological and chemical methods of hormone assay. The principal factors of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pancreas and gonads are included. The gastrointestinal group of hormones is not included although one might consider that secretin, at least, would deserve a place in a volume as inclusive as this. Chapters have been prepared by workers whose original contributions to the particular fields have been outstanding in recent years.
