This is another slender addition to the American Lecture Series. The author's main purpose is to show how closely interwoven are the patterns obtained by all the widely different technics of securing an electrocardiographic tracing. The "standard" leads, the precordial leads, the unipolar leads and the epicardial leads in experimental animals are all expressions of the identical electrical phenomena and must therefore be interrelated. Dr. Hecht is at pains to link these close relationships. He achieves this aim with thoroughness and conciseness, though not always with the lucidity that one would wish.
