This is an amplified version of the chapter on "Clinical Electrocardiography" which appears in Nelson's Loose Leaf Medicine. The author uses the hexaxial reference system in many illustrations to show the relationship between the bipolar and unipolar limb leads. At times this method of presentation is helpful.
This volume is "intended to be a practical guide to the use of the electrocardiographic method in medical practice." Attempts to simplify a complex subject are to be commended. However, an understanding of the intricacies and complexities of electrocardiography should be a sine qua non for assuming the responsibilities of rendering an opinion
