This study was initiated to determine whether or not radioactive gallium would prove to be of value as a method for radio-isotope tracer studies and/or as a therapeutic measure in the management of patients who have primary or metastatic malignancy of the bone. It was conducted conjointly in the U. S. Naval Medical Research Institute and in the Laboratory of the Radioactive Isotope Board, U. S. Naval Hospital, National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. Both of these activities are integral parts of the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland.
