It is generally accepted today that there is a relationship between arterio sclerosis and disturbances in lipid metabolism. Morrison et al.,1 and Steiner2 have shown that patients with coronary disease as a group are characterized by hypercholesterolemia in comparison with control groups of healthy subjects of the same age.
In their survey of the incidence of coronary artery disease in various countries, Keys et al.8 have shown that in those countries where hyper cholesterolemia is frequently found after the age of 40 there is an increased incidence of cases of myocardial infarction anginal syndrome.
