The German Heart Association customarily selects specific topics for its annual meeting, and through comprehensive presentations by various speakers an attempt is made to cover most of the newer knowledge of the field. The "Verhandlungen" or proceedings printing the well-edited papers given complete with references and illustrations have thus become a means of reporting the progress of the problems discussed. The twenty-third annual meeting was devoted to the circulation in anesthesia, hypothermia, and congenital heart disease.
