This short volume on the clinical applications of aldosterone-antagonists presents papers by several German and Austrian authors originally read at a symposium held in Vienna in 1961. Topics range from an introductory lecture on the physiology of aldosterone secretion to a short paper on some extrarenal effects of aldosterone-antagonists; they include, among others, indications for the use of aldosterone-antagonists in the nephrotic syndrome of children, observations on their effects after portacaval shunts, and in hypertensive states.
