The publishing house of Springer is presenting a series of monographs on topics of interest to the pathologist and the clinician. In this, the tenth volume of the series, Dr. Illig, a dermatologist, has undertaken the laborious task of writing a coherent, up-to-date review of the literature on "the capillary bed," with particular emphasis on findings gained by observations in the living organism.
