Surgery of the Chest, edited by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at The Jefferson Medical College, presents the current picture of thoracic surgery as interpreted by 35 eminent contributors. Emphasis is placed on cardiopulmonary pathophysiology induced by disease processes and by thoracotomy. The 33 chapters are well written in the main, and there is no repetitive overlap between chapters. An extensive, up-to-date bibliography is appended to individual chapters, and there is a good index.
