Always one of our best textbooks in psychiatry, this sixth edition has been considerably enlarged and many parts of it entirely rewritten. There are some especially good additions in the early chapters on personality function. There is some major rewriting in connection with organic syndromes and the chapters dealing with the energizers and tranquilizers. The book is oriented in terms of psychodynamic psychological theory.
