The ninth edition of this well-known British textbook of hematology, like its predecessors, is a well organized, concisely written, yet reasonably complete presentation of the subject. Recent advances in the ever-expanding field of hematology have necessitated extensive revision of all portions of the text with the greatest changes having been made in the chapters dealing with hemolytic anemia, hemorrhagic disorders, leukemia, and cytochemistry.
In the present edition, the services of two collaborators, Dr. F. G. J. Hayhoe and Dr. Geoffrey H. Tovey, have been enlisted to completely rewrite the chapters on the cytochemistry of hematopoiesis and on blood groups and
