The subtitle of this book mentions that it is "compiled from the Museum of Congenital Heart Disease at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh." This is, in fact, a more accurate description than is implied in the title. This is a catalogue of the material in the Museum presented from the viewpoint of a morphologist. The descriptions of the anomalies are well done. It is unfortunate that so little emphasis is placed on the theories of embryology which lead to the development of congenital defects of the heart and blood vessels, since several investigators have been expressing an increasing interest in organogenesis.
