While reading this book, the reviewer, an internist, was asked three questions of a urologic nature. For example, one question concerned the degree and duration of elevation of the serum acid phosphatase activity following rectal examination. Surprisingly, this test is not mentioned in the text: nor were adequate answers to the other questions available. Much of the text is of little use to the internist either because better descriptions of the medical aspects of urologic disease are available in the medical literature or because the techniques described are not applicable.
