The authors have investigated the nondialyzable solids of human urine in extenso, and here summarize the world literature and their own contribution in this field. The chapters on techniques, uromucoid, and physiological implications are written with authority and clarity. Other chapters provide only cursory treatment of particular urinary constituents but are valuable in that the references are well-chosen. While such detailed treatment will not interest the average medical reader, this monograph is of value to anyone concerned with the mechanisms of appearance, significance, techniques of isolation, and probable contaminants of the proteins, enzymes, hormones, and micropolysaccharides found in human urine.
