The present report was prompted by the finding of an isolated clotting Factor X (Stuart) deficiency in a patient with amyloidosis of the liver. Because of the apparent rarity of this combination, only three instances having been previously reported (1-3), it was deemed desirable to report this case in detail.
A 53-year-old white male was hospitalized (Veterans Administration Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts) because of pain and swelling of the left knee and groin of 3 weeks' duration, and a 20-pound weight loss. Prior to this illness he had been in good health. The patient denied any bleeding tendency in
