To the Editor: In the case report "Relapsing Pancreatitis with Recurrent Pericardial and Pleural Effusions: A Case Report and Review of Literature," published in the ANNALS of last June, Dr. Carl E. Mitchell states that ". . . no previous case of acute pancreatitis associated with pericardial effusion and a high pericardial fluid amylase titer has been reported."
I would like to call attention to the report, "Épanchement Péricardique d'Origine Pancréatique," by Water, J., Weill, J. P., and Storck, D., from Strasburg in Presse Medicale 70: 255, 1962. In their paper, these authors report a pericardial effusion with amylase titers
