Thanks to its editors, publishers and contributors this small volume, the outcome of a symposium held at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, in October, 1963 presents an entire symposium in book form after less time than most journals require to publish a paper. Sixteen guest speakers, all experts in their various fields, present formal papers generally concerned with basic biochemical, morphological, and biological mechanisms of lipid metabolism.
