In these fifteen papers presented at a Ciba Foundation Symposium in July, 1963, the topics are more diverse in content than their collective title might indicate, but they can be grouped into the divisions (1) mechanisms of action of several general cellular toxins and of several hepatotoxins, (2) mechanisms of membrane injury, and (3) factors involved in death of cells.
