There are obviously many uses for this book. Here, certainly, the use is anatomical, physiological, and clinical. Whether pathology also should be involved is uncertain. The illustrations were poorly done originally and are badly reproduced here. References and material are adequately covered in many standard books, but if, as suggested, "the anomalous and inexplicable of the present . . . may become the commonplace of the future," current levels of public health practices must have receded into a truly dark age where parasitic heart disease would still be an insignificant consideration.
