The second edition of this book is an adequate treatment of the subject, reasonably well-illustrated, and with a series of introductory charts which, if memorized, demands little more of the student. Perhaps these charts are a product of the authors' long experience in competing for attention in the crowded schedules of their respective schools. However, the book gives scant attention to levels of nutrition as a factor in the frequency of parasites and parasitic disease. This is a serious fault. Its section on diagnostic methods also is poorly illustrated. The book is inferior to several current texts.
