Soon after cyanocobalamin tagged with a radioactive isotope of cobalt became available, Dr. Doscherholmen began using it to study the metabolism of vitamin B12 in man. Although the results of most of these studies have been published elsewhere, this book brings them all together in one place. The author refers extensively to the literature (over 600 items), but this book is primarily a compendium of his own work.
Dr. Doscherholmen has concerned himself with the movement through the body of both orally ingested and parenterally injected vitamin B12 in normal and abnormal subjects. He was among the first to suggest
